My Recursive Writing Process

This semester has provided me with many strategies to add to my recursive writing process. It seemed like as time went on, I was able to find more and more techniques that helped me improve my writing.  These skills not only helped me throughout English 110, but they will also continue to help me in my other classes and my future. When active reading, my favorite that I learned is to make connections with the text and glossing. This can help me when I have other readings in other classes that require in-depth analysis of a text. For brainstorming and drafting, a stream of consciousness is where I like to begin. This allows me to gather all my thoughts and place connections where I see them. It also lets me grab certain ideas to continue on, and produce a clear first draft. Peer revision is the most productive revision strategy for me, as well. This is a key skill to utilize in all classes, as it lets you work collaboratively to find global and local edits. Though these were skills we practiced in English 110, I know that they will continue to help me improve in my other courses as well.
