Learning Outcomes 5&6

Learning outcomes 5 and 6 address using proper citations and conventions (MLA) and controlling sentence-level error. Throughout the semester, I was able to practice these two outcomes by writing my essays. Though my Significant Writing Project only used the two outside sources we were provided by, I was able to demonstrate the proper citation techniques we learned in it. This can be seen on my works cited page as it is in correct MLA citation and is in alphabetic order. Within my essay, I also show correct convention and control over local error. When quoting any other author I used to defend my argument, they are cited with the page number. I also have improved in fixing my sentence-level mistakes. In the first essay I wrote for the class, I made several mistakes that cost me points. To prevent this, I now read my essays out loud and mark the places that cause me to stumble over my words. This has helped in locating and fixing any spelling or grammatical errors.
